The Royal Thai Police has awarded Pol. Lt. Col. Kittichan, deputy superintendent of Tha Kham Police Station, a special merit increase of 6 levels and a royal request to be promoted to the rank of ‘Pol. Gen.’ after intervening in a shooting incident where he was killed.

The Royal Thai Police posted their condolences for Pol Lt Col Kittichan, stating, ‘Praise to the brave policeman, Pol Lt Col Kittichan Chanyarom, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, Tha Kham Police Station. The Royal Thai Police would like to express our deepest condolences for this loss.’ Pol Lt Col Kittichan performed his duty as a peacekeeper until the last moment of his life, bravely leading the force to stop a maniac who was taking his family hostage, before being shot and seriously injured by the maniac who later died.

Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukwimol, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, expressed his condolences to the family of Pol. Lt. Col. Kittichanom on this occasion and ordered his commanding officers to take full care of
the welfare and benefits of Pol. Lt. Col. Kittichanom’s family.

Initial benefits for the family of Pol. Lt. Col. Kittichanom amount to 4,577,210 baht along with special rewards for merit by requesting a 6-step salary increase, requesting the royal title of “Pol. Gen.”, including organizing a funeral ceremony with appropriate honors. On Monday, July 22 at 5:00 p.m., there will be a royal water pouring ceremony at Wat Yang Sutharam, Ban Chang Lo Subdistrict, Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok. The chanting ceremony will be on July 22-27, 2024, and the royal cremation ceremony will be on July 29, 2024.
