Bangkok: A significant power outage hit the Saphan Khwai, Bang Sue, and Pradiphat Road areas, disrupting electricity for over an hour. Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) officials were promptly on the scene to address the issue and restore order.
According to Thai News Agency, the outage began around 10:00 PM, causing a flurry of activity on social media as residents shared images and clips documenting the blackout. The sudden loss of power affected several parts of the Phaya Thai District, including major roads like Pradiphat and Rama VI.
By approximately 11:00 PM, a news team surveying the Pradiphat Road area reported that electricity had been fully restored, and normalcy was returning. The MEA confirmed the restoration of power to all impacted locations and attributed the outage to a technical malfunction within the power distribution system.
The MEA expressed its apologies to those affected and committed to a thorough investigation to prevent future occurrences. They assured the public of their dedication to maintaining reliable power services and minimizing disruptions.
