Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has assured that the Pre-Employment Card Program in 2022 will continue to benefit the community.
The minister met with the alumni of the Pre-Employment Card Program during a visit to Surabaya, East Java province on Thursday.
“Congratulations to the beneficiaries of the Pre-Employment Card. We hope this program can provide benefits in the future,” he stated.
He also lauded Surabaya residents for their active and enthusiastic participation in the Pre-Employment Card Program. East Java province has more than one million Pre-Employment Card recipients, the second-highest in Indonesia, the minister noted.
Meanwhile, with 388,707 recipients, Surabaya is the city with the highest number of program recipients in East Java province, he said.
Sixty-three percent of the recipients of the Pre-Employment Card Program have completed high school or graduated from vocational high school, while the rest have elementary, junior high, diplomas, and bachelor’s degrees, he added.
During the visit, Hartarto learned that the alumni of the Pre-Employment Card program had selected various types of training, ranging from public speaking to animation classes.
Furthermore, some alumni shared how they struggled to register for the program several times until they were finally accepted.
They also shared that they had used the skills obtained through the Pre-Employment Card Program to support their careers and enterprises.
During the event, BNI Bank handed out smallholder business credit (KUR) to selected Pre-Employment Card alumni and assistance in the form of tools to support the alumni’s businesses.
