President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday celebrated abroad


Various activities were held by Vietnamese embassies and overseas Vietnamese abroad to celebrate the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh which falls on May 19. The Vietnamese embassies in France and Belgium, and the authorities of Montreuil commune co-organized a flower tribute to the late President at Montreau park on the outskirts of Paris on May 18 (local time). Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria held a flower offering ceremony on Ho Chi Minh Avenue in the capital Algiers to mark the occasion. Also on May 18, a delegation of Vietnamese representative offices in New York and the Vietnamese community in Massachusetts state led by Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Vietnam’s Permanent Representative to the UN, visited Omni Parker House in Boston city, where Uncle Ho once worked in the early years of his journey to seek ways for national salvation. Similar activities were also held in the Republic of Korea, South Africa, Bangladesh, Singapore, Thailand and Russia.
