Chief of the Presidential Staff Moeldoko affirmed that President Joko Widodo personally undertook regular visits to various regions to comprehend problems and find solutions for local communities.
“This becomes Mr Jokowi’s reason to often go to the regions, so that he understands the problems that occur in the region and can find the right solution,” he noted in a statement received here on Tuesday.
Moeldoko delivered the remark during a meeting with the people and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Buton District, Southeast Sulawesi. He affirmed that Jokowi has set an example of good leadership in solving problems in society.
The achievement recorded in the current national economic conditions was also owing to Jokowi’s hard work in finding solutions to every problem.
Moeldoko noted that currently, Indonesia’s economic condition was relatively good amid the global economic turmoil, as was apparent from the economic growth of 5.44 percent in the second quarter of 2022 and controlled inflation at the rate of 4.9 percent.
On account of the achievement, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) called Indonesia a light in a world engulfed by darkness.
“This is an extraordinary achievement in the midst of the world’s countries experiencing the threat of recession. In fact, the IMF calls Indonesia a bright light when the world is hit by darkness. All of these achievements are a manifestation of the hard work of President Jokowi’s government that is constantly looking for solutions to various problems,” he remarked.
Moeldoko explained that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict had led to the global community facing the threat of food, energy, and financial crises.
“We are currently working hard to deal with the crisis. Hence, (fight over) things that no longer need to be disputed,” he stressed.
Moeldoko compelled the regional government and the public, especially in Buton District, to work hard in facing challenges related to poverty, education, and health in the country.
“I need to convey this, so that we all care that the situation we are facing now and in the future is not easy, but we must not become pessimistic and must be optimistic because we have good resources,” he concluded.
