President observes Pertamina’s Modular Hospital

President Joko Widodo observed Pertamina Modular Hospital in Tanjung Duren, Jakarta, which would begin its operations today. “Today, I and the SOE Minister and the Pertamina General Director see the Pertamina Modular Hospital in Tanjung Duren, Jakarta,” he said at the Modular Hospital Tanjung Duren, here on Friday.

He observed some of the rooms in the hospital, such as the intensive care unit, the neonatal intensive care unit, and other rooms, as seen on the Presidential YouTube channel.

“I am very grateful to the SOE Minister, to Pertamina, who prepared the Pertamina Modular Hospital with the capacity of 305 beds, complete with ICU and NICU, even a special ICU for kids, babies, and moms, so they can provide healthcare service to moms and kids,” the President said.

He hoped that the hospital can be utilized by the general public. “We also have to be grateful that this morning, figures indicate the pandemic in Java and Bali, have started to decline, especially in Jakarta,” he pointed out.

It could be observed from the hospital’s bed occupancy rate, he said.

“I saw the bed occupancy rate, I saw every day, every night, and this morning. Maybe six to eight weeks, the bed occupancy rate in Athlete Village reached 90 percent. This morning I received information that the bed occupancy rate  is 25 percent. But we all must stay alert at all times,” he informed.

PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation will dispatch 800 healthcare workers to operate the Pertamina Modular Hospital.

The Pertamina Modular Hospital has its own uniqueness, Nicke Widyawati from Pertamina said.

“Mister President just observed Modular Hospital directly, which God willing, can be finished in 30 days. The hospital is meant for COVID-19 handling, with 2/3 of the 305 beds complete with ICU,” Widyawati elaborated.
