President reviews COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Cirebon

President Joko Widodo flew to Cirebon City, West Java on Tuesday to review the implementation of door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination drive for residents.

The head of the state and his entourage took off for Cirebon on an ATR-72-600 airplane from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta at 7:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

Soon after landing at Cakrabhuwana airport in Harjamukti sub-district, Cirebon City, the President and his entourage went to Pengampaan village to observe the door-to-door vaccination program.

Afterwards, they went to Beber 1 State High School, Cirebon sub-district to observe vaccinations of students. Thereafter, they proceeded to Tonjong village, Kuningan district to review a door-to-door vaccination program hosted there.

They also visited Miftahul Falah Islamic Boarding School, where a vaccination program had been organized for students.

The President was later scheduled to virtually greet vaccination participants of other Islamic boarding schools and provide directions to the West Java regional leadership coordination forum in Kuningan district’s hall. At the end of the working visit, the President was scheduled to inaugurate Kuningan Dam before returning to Jakarta in the afternoon.

The President was accompanied by State Secretariat Minister Pratikno, head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Presidential Military Secretary M. Tony Harjono, Commander of Presidential Security (Paspampres) Brigadier General Tri Budi Utomo, and deputy of protocols, press, and media secretariat, Bey Machmudin.

Earlier, the President had said that he was pushing his agenda, which was to vaccinate 70 percent of Indonesians by the end of the year. To achieve this goal, he said he had instructed ministries and agencies to facilitate and assist in vaccinations.

The vaccination programs organized in several venues in Cirebon were part of efforts to achieve herd immunity, as directed by the President.
