Presidential archives exhibition could strengthen Sarinah branding

The ongoing presidential archive and car exhibition could strengthen the branding of Sarinah Mall as a showcase, and not just a platform, for local products, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir has said.

“This will be an attraction for millennials to get to know the nation’s history. This exhibition tells how our seven Presidents responded to the challenges and tests that came one after another and hit Indonesia and the world,” he explained here on Saturday.

Sarinah Building, Thohir said, will also open opportunities and prepare space for other exhibitions as a “gift” on the 77th anniversary of Indonesian independence.

The presidential exhibition entitled “Indonesia Answers” is being held from August 13 to 22, 2022.

The exhibition is displaying the archive collection of the State Secretariat Ministry in the form of documents, photos, documentary videos, and memorabilia that trace how the first president, Soekarno, and his successors up to President Joko Widodo have led the Indonesian nation.

Various historic moments of the nation and its journey have been archived in media platforms consisting of 44 textual archive files, 104 photo archives, 4 video archives, and 2 audio archives.

The exhibition is open to the public, and visitors can see the presidential archive collection on the ground floor, first floor, and second floor of the Sarinah Building in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the exhibition of cars used by Indonesian Presidents from time to time is housed in the parking lot of the building.

The exhibition was opened by State Secretary Minister Pratikno. Besides Minister Thohir, head of National Archives (ANRI), Imam Gunarto; president commissioner of PT Sarinah, Trisni Puspitaningtyas; president director of Sarinah, Fetty Kwartati; and senior vice president, government solutions, at PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, Nila Mayta Dwi Rihandjani, also attended the opening.
