Prime Minister Installs Seven-Tiered Golden Umbrella for Good Fortune

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has replaced the seven-tiered golden umbrella with red grooves on the statue of Narasingh, situated on the Thai Khu Fa building, in a move aimed at bringing good fortune.

According to Thai News Agency, officials at Government House reported the installation of a seven-tiered gold-painted alloy umbrella, known as the Phra Saptapatlasewetchat, on the statue of Narasingh. This installation was ordered by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who believes it will bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to the nation. The change was recommended by Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uwanno.

The replacement is considered a restoration rooted in ancient beliefs. The ‘7-tiered umbrella’ is a symbol of the highest honor. Following the installation, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, led a meeting to discuss the framework for economic, trade, and border security cooperation with the Lao People’s Democratic Republic at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
