‘Prime Minister Paethongtarn’ orders rehabilitation after floodwaters recede – returning travel routes to Chiang Rai residents


‘Prime Minister Paethongtarn’ immediately ordered the construction, repair and cleaning of roads and bridges after the flood situation in Chiang Rai Province improved in order to return travel routes and occupations to the people of Chiang Rai.

According to the order of “Prime Minister Paethongtarn”, the CCC will clear the road surface, connect the cut-off routes, deliver clean water, and restore the area as soon as the water recedes, returning the travel routes to the people of Chiang Rai.

Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, immediately ordered the construction, repair and cleaning of roads and bridges after visiting the area to monitor the water situation. It was found that the flood situation in Chiang Rai Province has improved and is starting to return to normal in order to return travel routes and occupations to the people of Chiang Rai. Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, reported the completion of the operation as follows:

(1) Road surface cleani
ng work on Highway 1 in front of the Mae Sai border checkpoint.

(2) Chiang Rai Highway District 1 brought in machinery to dig up weeds blocking the first bridge over the Mae Sai River.

(3) Water was delivered to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital.

(4) Water was delivered to Mengrai Maharat Camp Hospital.

(5) Bailey steel bridge erected on Highway 1338, Kha Yaeng-Pa Miang, at km 9+650, Chiang Rai Province.

(6) Bailey steel bridge erected on Highway 1093, Khun Huai Khrai-Pha Tang, at km 80+185, Chiang Rai Province.

(7) Bailey steel bridge erected on Highway 1098, Tha Khao Pluek-Kaen Tai, at km 18+366-km 18+446, Chiang Rai Province.
