Bangkok: In a decisive move to enhance consumer protection, the Prime Minister has mandated the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to implement stringent measures for controlling online products from abroad within a 30-day timeframe. The objective is to ensure the quality of these products and protect consumers from receiving items that do not match their descriptions.
According to Thai News Agency, Jirayu Huangsap, who serves as an advisor to the Prime Minister and government spokesman, conveyed this directive during the program ‘Sai Jak Jai Thai Khu Fa.’ The announcement revealed that Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, has tasked Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, the Minister of Commerce, with spearheading this initiative. The measures are designed to guarantee that all online products entering Thailand meet established quality standards.

d at ensuring that the products comply with industrial standards or TIS, and that they are properly taxed, as previously, these products were not subject to any tax. Additionally, products that are used on the body will need to be approved by the FDA to ensure they meet safety guidelines.
