Prime Minister Urges Collective Effort to Boost Thai Tourism Industry Through Winter Festivals.


Bangkok: The Prime Minister has called upon all sectors to unite in promoting Thailand’s unique attractions and drawing tourists from around the globe to invigorate the country’s economy in the final quarter of the year.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, highlighted the economic stimulus measures through Thailand’s tourism sector. On October 29, Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra inaugurated the “Thailand Winter Festivals” project, marking the beginning of the winter season in Thailand. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s strategy to establish Thailand as a year-round travel destination, notably during the winter months when tourist activity peaks.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence in Thailand’s allure, emphasizing its culinary offerings and vibrant culture as key attractions for international tourists. She urged all parties to collaborate in showcasing Thailand’s charm to the world, thereby boosti
ng tourist arrivals and stimulating economic growth. The government, alongside relevant agencies, has planned a variety of activities nationwide to accommodate tourists, including the Loi Krathong Festival, Yi Peng Festival, Christmas Festival, New Year’s Eve Festival, and other cultural events. These initiatives are designed to draw a significant influx of global visitors to Thailand.

Furthermore, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with over 550 tourism businesses across 17 northern provinces to launch the ‘Aew Nuea Kon La Khrueng’ campaign. This initiative offers tourists a 50% discount on goods and services at participating establishments, with a maximum value of 400 baht per transaction, limited to 10,000 transactions. Tourists can access campaign details, remaining availability, and a list of participating businesses on the designated website until December 31st.
