Private company agrees to compensate woman injured by cable around neck

Private company provides initial compensation of 3,000 baht to a 24-year-old woman who was injured when a cable caught her neck while riding a motorcycle into an alley in Mitpracha Village, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, and has fixed the communication cables to be in a safe and tidy condition. Negotiations are underway for other damages.

Ms. Naphaphon, 24 years old, showed the wounds she received on her neck, with long red marks all over her neck and bruises on her knees. She also had abrasions on her hands and legs, and had to have an X-ray of her entire body because of the impact she had when she was riding her motorcycle into an alley in the Mitpracha Village, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province. A cable more than 100 meters long fell and got caught in her neck, causing both the motorcycle and the person to fall over.

After receiving treatment for her wounds at the hospital, Ms. Naphaphon brought the police report from Pak Kret Police Station as evidence for reporters to see, in order to ta
ke legal action and claim damages from the cable company, because she only knew that the electric wires had just been installed last month. Ms. Naphaphon said that she was very shocked, because she had never encountered anything like this before. She had only seen it on the news on TV, and she did not think that this day would happen to her. Luckily, she was riding her motorcycle not fast, or her neck would have been broken.

After the incident, good citizens in the area brought plastic bags to attach to the cables as a symbol to prevent any danger from happening.

The latest news is that reporters went to inspect the scene of the incident again with Ms. Naphaphon, the victim. It was found that the company staff responsible for installing the communication cables at the scene of the incident had cleaned up the cables and rerouted them to be in good condition before coordinating with the adults to talk to the victim and agree to pay compensation, including medical expenses, initially 3,000 baht. As for the dam
age to the motorcycle, there will be a discussion and agreement in front of the investigation officer at Pak Kret Police Station
