Psychologists Deployed for 24-Hour Monitoring of High-Profile Inmates in Bangkok Prison

BANGKOK: The Bangkok Special Prison has implemented round-the-clock psychological monitoring for a group of high-profile inmates, including “Boss Paul,” amid concerns over their mental health and safety. This measure comes as the inmates agree to a six-day quarantine period together, with psychologists and technical nurses on standby to address any stress-related symptoms.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pramote Thongsri, the acting commander of the Bangkok Special Prison, confirmed that the group, known as the “Boss Kant-Boss Sam” faction, consented to quarantine alongside Boss Paul, who was the last to be incarcerated. Despite the challenging circumstances, no special requests have been made by the inmates, although stress levels remain high.

Mr. Pramote emphasized that while the inmates currently have no court verdict, they are permitted to discuss their case during the quarantine. Continuous surveillance, including CCTV monitoring, is in place to ensure their safety, given the high-profile nature of
the individuals involved.

In a related development at the Central Women’s Correctional Institution, Mrs. Kanokwan Jiwchuephan reported improvements in the condition of Min Pechaya, another detainee who had previously suffered from gastritis. She has responded well to medication and is now able to eat, although anxiety persists among her group.

The possibility of meetings between female inmates and Ms. Korkanok, also known as Mae Tak, was also discussed. Mae Tak had been previously detained at the same facility and was recently transferred back after a stint at the prison hospital for stress-induced stomach issues. Meanwhile, Mr. Kantpol, located in Zone 2 of the Bangkok Special Prison, awaits decisions on possible interactions with other male inmates post-quarantine.
