PTT moves forward with signing long-term LNG contracts to increase Thailand’s competitiveness

PTTT signs long-term LNG sales contract, increasing competitiveness and enhancing PTT’s international trade potential, creating energy security for the country.

PTT International Trading Co., Ltd. (PTTT) signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchase agreement with Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (BLNG) for the first time, with a contract period of 68-72 months to enhance PTT’s competitiveness and enhance its international trade potential, create energy security for the country, and aim to become an LNG trading hub in the ASEAN region, as well as to further develop cooperation within the region, in line with PTT’s mission to achieve sustainable global growth. Last week, PTTT also signed a long-term LNG purchase agreement with Oman LNG LLC for the first time.

PTT has been in the LNG business for about 20 years. PTTLNG currently has 2 LNG stations in Rayong, supporting 19 million tons of LNG per year and allowing third parties to use the service or Third Party Access, which helps promote competition acc
ording to the country’s market mechanism. PTTLNG continues to expand the scope of infrastructure to increase potential, both LNG export services by ship to Japan and China and also sells domestically by road, ship, and train.

While there is a study on the use of cold water from the gas phase conversion process for cooling in both the industrial and agricultural sectors and air conditioning systems, such as at the Plant Exhibition Building, it helps attract tourism to Rayong Province. This center is also a learning center for forest conservation. It uses renewable energy from Solar Cells. It is an energy-saving building that reduces electricity usage by 43% compared to general buildings. As a result, it received the Platinum Green Building Award according to Thailand’s energy and environmental sustainability assessment criteria.
