Moscow: North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Monday to discuss further strengthening cooperation.
According to Thai News Agency, North Korea’s official KCNA news agency reported on Tuesday that during the meeting between Putin and Choe, the two sides discussed a number of future projects to strengthen and develop the ongoing bilateral relationship. Choe also conveyed the brotherly wishes of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Putin.
The visit comes amid growing international concerns about cooperation between the two countries, with reports that Pyongyang is supplying troops and artillery to Russia for its war in Ukraine in exchange for Russian military technology assistance.
KCNA also reported that Ms. Cho held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday, reaching several agreements during the strategic dialogue on global issues.
During talks with Mr. Lavrov, North Korea expressed support for Russia’s measures to eliminate the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine, while Russia also expressed support for North Korea’s efforts to protect its security and sovereignty interests.
