Bangkok: Her Majesty the Queen attended the Bangkok 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Championships C-Pool at the Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena in Huai Khwang District. The event, held by the Sports Association for the Disabled of Thailand under Royal Patronage, was honored by the World Para Ice Hockey Federation (WPIH) to take place from November 20 to 30, 2024. Competitors from Finland, Austria, the Commonwealth of Australia, and Thailand participated in the world-class tournament, aiming to collect ranking points for the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Milan, Italy.
According to Thai News Agency, the Finnish disabled ice hockey team was awarded the championship trophy and will advance to the B-Pool qualifying round for the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games. Her Majesty the Queen, who has shown a longstanding interest in ice hockey, supports and participates in various ice hockey activities.
