RAYONG: Rayong FC achieved their first victory in eight matches with a 3-1 win over Nongbua Pitchaya FC in the Thai League 1, moving up to 13th place in the standings. The match, held at Rayong Central Stadium, showcased Rayong’s early dominance and effective play, earning them crucial points in the 2024-2025 season.
According to Thai News Agency, the home team seized an early lead in the 14th minute when Athit Butjinda’s shot was initially saved by Nongbua’s goalkeeper, Kittikun Chaemsuwan. However, Theppitak Poolchuang capitalized on the rebound to score. Rayong extended their lead to 2-0 in the 21st minute with a goal from Katano Hiromichi, confirmed after a VAR check. Ryoma Ito further strengthened Rayong’s position with a left-footed shot in the 42nd minute, giving the team a 3-0 advantage before halftime.
Nongbua Pitchaya managed to respond just before the break, with Jorge Felipe heading in a goal during the first-half stoppage time, bringing the score to 3-1. Despite efforts from both sides in the s
econd half, no additional goals were scored, and the match concluded with Rayong FC securing a much-needed win.
