Rayong: Rayong Province in Thailand has been ranked as the number one slow travel destination in Asia for 2025.
According to Thai News Agency, the global travel platform “Agoda” recognized Rayong for its appeal to travelers seeking to savor nature, tranquility, and authentic Thai community lifestyles.
Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, highlighted Rayong’s popularity among both Thai and international tourists, attributing it to its serene beaches like Mae Ramphueng Beach and the lush Thung Prong Thong mangrove forest. The region is also known for local fishing markets full of fresh seafood, such as those at Suan Son Beach. These attractions embody a tourism model that values nature, lifestyle, and sustainability.
Other top-ranking destinations for slow travel in Asia include Kalekova in Indonesia, Seoul in South Korea, Tokyo in Japan, Nha Trang in Vietnam, Boracay in the Philippines, Taipei in Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Chennai in India.
