Region 1 Army Clarifies Mine Clearance Communication to Cambodia

Bangkok: The 1st Army Area Command has clarified its communication with Cambodia, following the dispatch of a letter by the Burapha Task Force to the 51st Infantry Regiment. The letter pertained to the clearing of mines in the Nong Chan-Nong Ya Kaeo areas, and the explanation emphasized that this action was intended to prepare the operational area on the Thai side.

According to Thai News Agency, the First Army Area, via its Operations Center, elaborated on the situation subsequent to the letter sent on October 10, 2025, by the Burapha Task Force to the Commander of Cambodia’s 51st Infantry Division. The objective of clearing mines in the Ban Nong Chan and Ban Nong Ya Kaeo regions is to ensure safety within these territories, which are recognized as sovereign areas of Thailand. The operation aims to support officials in upholding sovereignty and peace for the Thai populace. The notification to the Cambodian side served to prevent any potential misunderstandings or misrepresentations of the information.
