Region 2 Army Commander Inspects Phu Makhuea Base, Boosts Morale of Soldiers to Protect Sovereignty

Phu Makhuea: Region 2 Army Commander inspects Phu Makhuea base, vows to protect sovereignty, not to let anyone invade, points out that the people are sending encouragement and giving 500 baht or 60,500 Cambodian riel to every Thai soldier. Reporters reported that on June 3, 2015, at Phu Makhuea, Nam Taeng Subdistrict, Pho Sai District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area, traveled to the Phu Makhuea Operations Base to encourage soldiers on duty at the Phu Makhuea Operations Base.

According to Thai News Agency, the Buddha statue ‘Somdet Phra Phuttha Maha Chakkraphat’ (Luang Pho Yai Chokdee) was invited to be enshrined at the Phu Makhuea base of operations to boost morale among those on duty to protect the Thai land.

Lt. Gen. Boonsin gave advice and encouragement to the soldiers on duty at the Phu Makhuea base, telling them to perform their duties with caution and to be ready at all times. He emphasized the importance of protecting sovereignty and ensuring that no one invades. He highlighted the support from the citizens, who have been sending encouragement to those serving along the border, along with gifts of tractors to facilitate border operations.

The commander, along with other officials, distributed supplies including rice, dried food, drinking water, instant noodles, and canned fish. Additionally, they handed out Luang Por Chokdee coins, Luang Pu Thuat coins made from medicinal herbs, and gave each soldier 500 baht or approximately 60,500 Cambodian riels.
