HANOI — The 15th National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam is gearing up for its question-and-answer (Q&A) session as part of its sixth assembly, which officially started on October 23. The preparation for this significant segment was the focus of a meeting chaired by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on October 30. According to Bui Van Cuong, the NA Secretary-General and Chairman of the NA Office, the meeting saw presentations and discussions on the preparatory work, including methods and timing for the Q&A activity.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Chairman Hue highlighted that the Q&A session will concentrate on four main areas: general economics – macroeconomics, sectoral economics, socio-culture, and judiciary matters, internal affairs, and state audit. The session is scheduled to last two and a half days, allocating approximately 160-170 minutes for each area. However, Chairman Hue noted that the timing could be adjusted flexibly based on the actual situation as the event unfolds.
Emphasizing the importance of the session, Hue clarified that the primary goal is to examine the “commitments” made by government members and heads of sectors in implementing the resolutions of the 14th and 15th legislatures. This approach marks a shift from addressing current issues to a focus on accountability and follow-through on previous commitments. Chairman Hue concluded the meeting by urging all participants and related parties to ensure thorough preparations for the upcoming Q&A activity.
