Samut prakan: A dispute over a delayed food order at a rice porridge shop escalated into a physical altercation, leaving both a rider and a vendor injured and requiring medical attention.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident took place at the entrance of Soi Thesaban Bang Pu 70, in Tambon Tai Ban Mai, Amphoe Mueang, Samut Prakan Province. The conflict began when Mr. Kriangsak, a 42-year-old rider, confronted Ms. Charat, the 46-year-old owner of the rice porridge shop, after waiting nearly an hour for an order. Tensions rose when Mr. Kriangsak observed that the shop had skipped his order in favor of another customer’s, leading to an exchange of words.
The situation further escalated when Mr. Kriangsak used a curse, prompting Ms. Charat’s husband to attempt to strike him with a ladle. Mr. Kriangsak managed to dodge the initial attack and retaliated, resulting in a chaotic scuffle that left both parties injured. Officers provided first aid to the injured individuals before they were sent to Samut Praka
n Hospital for further treatment.
Mr. Kriangsak later filed a complaint, displaying injuries to his left finger and back. He recounted waiting from 5:13 p.m. until 6:05 p.m. without receiving his order, despite others who ordered later being served first. The vendor’s response to his inquiry was dismissive, leading to a heated exchange. As Mr. Kriangsak returned to his vehicle, he was struck from behind with a spatula by the vendor’s boyfriend. A physical struggle ensued until another rider intervened to separate the two.
