Bangkok: The Commander of the Naval Fleet has confirmed that the Royal Thai Navy is fully prepared to address any potential threats, following reports of Cambodian military exercises near Koh Kood. Speaking on the state of readiness, the Commander emphasized the navy’s role as a strategic tool for government peace negotiations, reassuring the public of the navy’s commitment to national security.
According to Thai News Agency, Admiral Nataphol Diaovanich, the Commander of the Fleet, elaborated on the current situation between Thailand and Cambodia. He underscored his leadership over the navy’s primary combat units, which include ships, aircraft, and SEAL teams. Admiral Diaovanich conducted an inspection of the personnel earlier in the day, affirming their preparedness for any mission. He highlighted the existence of a specialized fleet capable of long-range operations, further reiterating the navy’s readiness to support governmental peace initiatives.
Addressing concerns regarding the proximity of the Cambodian Navy’s exercises to Thailand’s Koh Kood, the Commander of the Fleet Operations Command clarified that intelligence units have been monitoring the situation closely, noting that the exercises involve multiple nations.
On the topic of emergency readiness, Admiral Diaovanich assured that the navy is equipped with the necessary ships and weaponry to serve as effective tools for the government.
