“Ruangkrai” calls for ethics investigation of “Paethongtarn” over mini-heart pose


“Ruangkrai” petitions the NACC to investigate the ethics of “Prime Minister Paethongtarn” who invited ministers to take a mini-heart pose photo.

Mr. Ruangkrai Leekijwattana, a member of the Palang Pracharath Party, revealed that today he sent a letter to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) via EMS to request the NACC to investigate Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, for any violations of the ethical standards, Section 17, Section 21, in conjunction with Section 27, paragraph two, and whether she must be sent to the Supreme Court for a ruling in accordance with Section 235, paragraph one (1) of the Constitution, and whether she will be permanently revoked from running for election in accordance with Section 235, paragraph four, in the case of inviting the cabinet to take a mini-heart pose while wearing a white uniform on the lawn in front of the Thai Khu Fah building, Government House. There are issues that should be investigated to see if there are any actions that violate the ethic
al standards.

Article 17 stipulates that no action shall be taken that will damage the dignity of the position, and Article 21 stipulates that official duties shall be performed to the best of one’s ability and adhere to correctness, transparency, and accountability, and comply with the law and government regulations, taking into account the national interest and the well-being of the people as a whole.

Mr. Ruangkrai said that in the case of Ms. Paethongtarn who was the one who made the mini-heart gesture and invited the cabinet to follow suit during the group photo session, but after the team pointed it out, the Prime Minister smiled and admitted that he forgot that he was wearing white, and the cabinet raised their hands to make the mini-heart gesture before quickly putting their hands down, with many ministers following suit, such as Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, and many ministers who did not follow suit, such as Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, each minist
