Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim firmly believes that the sanctity of Pancasila lies in the manner in which the national ideology is implemented in the day-to-day lives of Indonesians.
“The ministry is committed to realizing a transformation consistent with the message of Soekarno in his birth of Pancasila speech that we will establish an eternal Indonesian state with the five tenets of Pancasila as our foundation,” Makarim noted in his remarks observed here Saturday.
To realize the Pancasila-based transformation, all parties should work together to achieve safe education and cultural spaces based on inclusivity, tolerance, and freedom from violence, he affirmed.
The minister also expressed pride over Indonesia’s success in proving to the global community to recover faster and stronger despite huge crises that the country is facing while remaining faithful to the national foundation.
“In international forums, such as G20, Transforming Education Summit, and UN-organised MONDIACULT, we introduced noble values that become the identity of the Indonesian nation, such as mutual assistance, Unity in Diversity, and Pancasila,” Makarim stated.
With Pancasila as the foundation, the ministry encouraged residents to unite in realizing learning and cultural freedom and bring the Indonesian nation forward to the future.
“With breakthroughs of the Merdeka Curriculum that prioritize project-based education, including efforts to bolster the Pancasilaist student personality, Indonesian students are encouraged to be faithful, God-fearing, and noble, respecting diversity, as well as be an independent, critical, and creative person for their life,” Makarim remarked.
Breakthroughs in the cultural sector, particularly the cultural endowment fund, also encouraged artists and individuals active in the sector to be creative as more cultural channels and communities are thriving, he remarked.
