“Sonthiya” filed a request for the DSI to prosecute Ms. Korakanok or Mother Tak and Mr. Kantpol or Pa Beer in the case of selling gold online and causing problems for many people, both in Bangkok, other provinces and abroad.
Mr. Sonthiya Sawasdee said that the Department of Special Investigation has the Special Investigation Act 2004, Chapter 3, Section 21 (a) (b), which includes 41 offenses under the DSI’s jurisdiction, such as laws related to currency, consumer protection, computer crimes, Revenue Code offenses, and fraudulent borrowing of money from the public. Initially, there were 400-500 victims, and he himself was someone who had bought products online and did not receive them. Although it was not Mae Tak’s gold, he saw that the sales were similar and believed that someone was behind the sales of Mae Tak’s network. Therefore, this case is complicated, has a large amount of assets, and as there were pictures of Mae Tak with the police, which may have made the victims unsure. Therefore, they requested
that it be considered a special case to set a precedent and prevent such problems from happening again, for the sake of peace and order and good morals of the people.
Pol. Lt. Col. Woranan Srilam, DSI spokesman, said after receiving the case that Mr. Sonthiya had submitted 2-3 clues, especially the law that may be involved. The next step is to compile and present the case to the acting DSI director-general to consider whether it falls under the category of special case or not. All aspects must be considered, including consumer protection laws, fraud or asset transfer that falls under money laundering, or whether the number of victims or the value of the damage exceeds 300 million baht or not. The DSI is also following the news and information on ‘Mae Tak’ before investigating whether it falls under the category of special case or not in order to proceed with legal action.
