Saraphi District is heavily flooded, receiving water from Chiang Mai City.

Floodwaters in Chiang Mai City, which have receded, have overflowed into downstream areas such as Saraphi District, with many communities flooded to depths of more than 1 meter.

Jinda Villa Village, a low-lying community near the railway road, Nong Phueng Subdistrict, Saraphi District, has been flooded for more than 3 days after receiving water that flooded Chiang Mai city. From the current situation, hundreds of houses are still under water almost 1 meter deep. Dozens of cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles have been damaged. Although the water level has gone down somewhat, it is still high. Boats have to be used to travel. Some villagers have started to row boats to survey the damage and clean their houses.

Like Uncle Jamnian, 66 years old, a resident of Jinda Villa Village, who had to use a DVD box and lunch box to row a boat to feed his 5 cats and his beloved dog, Cha Nom, who were still stuck in the water on the 2nd floor of his house. His son had just built the house 3 years ago. Even though it was r
aised higher than the road, the water still overflowed into the house, causing heavy damage to his belongings.

Like many other villagers who went to survey the damage and clean their homes, but when they saw the condition inside the homes, they were shocked because all the electrical appliances and furniture were damaged. Even though they had moved the water to higher ground, there was more water than they thought. The water that receded from this point will flow to the communities in the south of Saraphi District, including Chompoo Subdistrict and Chaiyathan Subdistrict, which are still flooded, before the water overflows to Lamphun Province.

Although the water level in Jinda Villa Village has dropped by more than 60 centimeters, communities in the downstream areas in low-lying areas are still unable to drain the water. After this, water pumps will have to be mobilized to pump the water out before it becomes rotten.
