SET reveals today foreign investors net bought, excluding big lot transactions in SCCC shares


The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) revealed that today foreign investors were net buyers, excluding big lot transactions in SCCC shares.

Today (19 Aug 2024), the Thai stock market closed at 1,323.38 points, up 20.38 points or +1.56% with a trading value of 62,358.60 million baht. The SET Index was boosted by better-than-expected Q2 GDP figures, as well as a clearer political situation. Investors should follow the data, including important economic figures.

For today’s trading by investor group, foreign investors had net sales of 10,486.55 million baht, including the Big Lot transaction in shares of Siam City Cement Public Company Limited (SCCC) totaling 76,107,368 shares, with a total value of 12,177.18 million baht, which is a restructuring of shareholding among groups of shareholders, where Sunrise Equity Company Limited, a major shareholder, purchased shares of the company from Jardine Cycle and Carriage Limited, resulting in a change in the shareholding structure of the offeror and the offeror grou
p to hold shares in the company in the proportion of approximately 71.88 percent of the total voting rights of the company. As a result, the offeror is required to make a tender offer for all remaining securities of the company. SCCC has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand of its receipt of the announcement of intention to make a takeover and the change in shareholding structure.

Excluding the above items, foreign investors had a net purchase of 1,690.63 million baht
