Sharia Economic Community has many achievements: VP Amin

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin said the Sharia Economic Community (MES) has gained many achievements, such as expanding its reach overseas and the ISO 9001: 2015 Certificate.”I laud MES’s achievements, especially the ISO 9001 Certificate and an unqualified opinion on its financial audit,” Amin said at the 6th National Conference of MES here on Sunday. The Vice President encouraged MES, under the leadership of Erick Thohir, to continue to gain achievements and make innovations with sincerity and agility. “Let’s continue to work and innovate with the intention of worshiping God, sincerity, and smart, agile, and total work to contribute to the welfare of the nation,” Amin said. He added that MES has improved in terms of management, performance, and activities. The organization exists in 123 districts/cities and in 23 countries. He asked MES to keep growing and supporting the nation’s sharia economy and finance at the grassroots level. “I believe all MES members have a strong commitment and a deep understanding of sharia economics. Now is the time for every MES member to become a role model for the people,” he said. He explained that MES members can show the people the values and advantages of the sharia economy in transactions, business practices, financial activities, and other daily economic activities. MES also needs to produce more studies and articles that can become public narratives, in order to promote the sharia economy’s real contribution to development and welfare, he said. “This is to increase sharia economic and financial literacy, and the public will increasingly understand the role and contribution of the sharia economy in improving welfare,” he said. Lastly, the VP asked MES to widen the network of collaboration with all stakeholders to accelerate the sharia economic and financial development.
