Shooting of a couple in anger over parking on a vendor’s property

A couple was shot dead in a market after parking on a vendor’s spot. The 62-year-old gunman claimed that he was angry that someone had taken his spot. He told them to postpone, but they refused. He even challenged them.

The Chana Police Station in Songkhla Province was notified of a shooting incident in front of a gold shop on Rat Rak Road, Ban Na Subdistrict, Chana District, which is in the central market of Chana. At the scene, they found Mr. Aduanan, 44 years old, who had been shot and injured. Officers took him to Chana Hospital, where he later died. On the road in front of the gold shop, they found the body of Mrs. Siti Ase, 64 years old. Her body had multiple gunshot wounds and stab wounds.

The perpetrator, Mr. Huan, 62 years old, from Tambon Tha Pradu, Amphoe Saba Yoi, Songkhla Province, after the incident, stood waiting to surrender to the police at the scene.

Villagers said that before the incident, they saw Mr. Huan drive a pickup truck to the gold shop before scolding the other party for parki
ng his fruit stall on their property after the other party was evicted from the market. Then Mr. Huan drove his old car away and not long after, he rode his motorcycle back to the scene again, pulling out a gun and shooting the two husband and wife. While Mrs. Siti Asae ran away onto the road, Mr. Huan followed and stabbed her repeatedly with a knife until she died. Initially, the police took Mr. Huan to be questioned at the Chana Police Station and charged him with intentional murder and attempted murder.
