‘Somchai’ is about to submit a case to the Constitutional Court to fight the vote-buying case.

‘Somchai’ is about to file a petition with the Constitutional Court to fight the vote-buying case after the Supreme Court ordered the revocation of voting rights for 10 years, complaining that the EC’s complaint was improper.

Mr. Somchai Lenglak, Senator, gave an interview about the Supreme Court’s ruling to revoke the right to run for election for 10 years on the charge of colluding in allowing a person to prepare money to give to eligible voters to entice them to vote for him, which is considered election fraud. He said that he had been informed of the Supreme Court’s order because his lawyers had already informed him. Next, he will have to explain and submit it to the Constitutional Court whether or not to suspend his duties as a Senator. After the court order has been copied, his lawyers will proceed with the process.

As for the approach to fight, Mr. Somchai stated that it is clear that the Election Commission (EC) has filed a complaint against him improperly. On the day of the accusation, the EC’s evidence was not presented to show that it was evidence. As for the process of acknowledging the accusation, he went to court and from the EC’s witness statements, it is known that it is similar to a set-up or political rival, which we must fight the case in this part.

Mr. Somchai also confirmed that submitting to the Constitutional Court will be the last line of defense in fighting this case and he is 100 percent confident because the EC has sued him improperly.

For the person on the reserve list who might be promoted to become a Senator instead of Mr. Somchai, he is Mr. Thanatchaphong Wongmulalee.
