Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has announced the certification of Songka as Chiang Rai MP for District 7.
According to Thai News Agency, the Election Commission has approved Song-nga Prommuang as the Member of Parliament for Chiang Rai Constituency 7. The decision follows the ECT’s proposal to fill the vacant position and is in accordance with Section 127 of the Organic Act on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives, B.E. 2561 (2018) and its amendments, alongside Section 215 of the ECT’s regulations on the election of members of the House of Representatives, B.E. 2566 (2023).
Mr. Sanga Phrommuang has been confirmed as the elected candidate for the position. He is expected to collect his certificate of election as a Member of the House of Representatives for Chiang Rai Province, Constituency 7, on September 24, 2025. The collection will take place at the Election Commission Office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Should he be unable to collect it personally, he is required to
provide a power of attorney and certified copies of ID cards for both himself and an authorized representative.
The Election Commission has clarified that the announcement does not limit its responsibility to probe or decide on matters if there is any reasonable suspicion regarding the integrity or fairness of the election process.
