Bangkok: Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association is organizing a prestigious university speech contest to honor His Majesty the King, marking the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s 6th cycle birthday anniversary on July 28, 2024. Participants will vie for the royal trophy with the theme ‘The center of our hearts, His Majesty is in the hearts of the people.’

According to Thai News Agency, the contest aims to promote understanding of the royal duties and the grace of His Majesty the King. It seeks to instill values of creative expression among Thai youth, emphasizing the art of using the Thai language correctly and appropriately. The competition is open to bachelor’s degree students from higher education institutions or equivalent, with each institution allowed to send one representative, who must be certified by their original institution.

The winner will be awarded His Majesty the King’s Trophy, a 50,000 baht scholarship, and a certificate from the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association under Roy
al Patronage. The second place will receive up to two prizes, each including a plaque from the association and a 20,000 baht scholarship.
