SRT supports the Department of Military Engineering to conduct a Big Cleaning in Chiang Rai.


State Railway of Thailand’ supports the Department of Military Engineering to go to the Big Cleaning Chiang Rai area, organizing a train both there and back to send volunteer military engineering cadets to help flood victims in the northern region.

Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, revealed that the government is concerned about the people who are experiencing flooding problems in the northern region, especially Chiang Rai Province. Although the flood situation has begun to improve, the current problem is that mud flowing with the current is still stuck in houses and various places. Therefore, he has assigned the State Railway of Thailand to urgently coordinate with relevant agencies to provide support in facilitating, especially travel for officials and the public.

Mr. Wirit Amrapal, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, revealed that the SRT is ready to facilitate the travel of officials to go to the area to help the people as much as possible by support
ing the travel of 163 volunteer cadets from the Engineering Corps, Department of Military Engineering, Phanurangsi Camp, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province, who will go to Mueang District, Wiang Pa Pao District, and Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province to help people affected by the flood, especially cleaning people’s houses after the flood situation in Chiang Rai Province has improved continuously and many areas have returned to normal. By organizing both outbound and return trains, the outbound train No. 109 from Bangkok to Chiang Mai on Monday, October 7, with 80 people and another 83 people on Tuesday, October 8, while the return train No. 52 from Chiang Mai to Bangkok on Tuesday, October 22, with 80 people and another 83 people on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 (based on the current water situation It may be necessary to use Lampang Station as a connection point for road transportation.)

In the past, the State Railway of Thailand has also provided support by organizing a special train to transport anima
l feed grass to help farmers in flood-affected areas in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, providing relief bags to those affected by the flood, and bringing machinery, equipment, and manpower from the new railway construction project on the Den Chai-Chiang Rai-Chiang Khong section to help dredge canals and drain pipes to speed up water drainage in Mae Ka District, Phayao Province, and Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province to help people who have been affected.

The Governor of the State Railway of Thailand also said that the State Railway of Thailand is ready to stand by all victims by providing assistance and cooperating with all sectors so that Thai people can overcome this crisis together.
