“Sruang” counters Palang Pracharath Party, insists no one dominates Pheu Thai MPs

‘Sorrawong’ counters Palang Pracharath Party, insists no one dominates Pheu Thai MPs, reiterates that he cannot work with Palang Pracharath Party, admits that Pheu Thai Party is weak in the law, but as party secretary, he is ready to fight every case.

Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports and Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about the case of the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) announcing that it will not be afraid of being influenced by people outside the party and siphoning off MPs, and will fully investigate both inside and outside the parliament, including the law. He said that the government coalition for the past year, even though it did not say it in words, the fact that the Palang Pracharath Party came out to speak like this to the media and the public clearly shows that they cannot work together as a coalition party. Why? He also confirmed that the Pheu Thai Party is not influenced by people outside the party, especially during the period when the government was form
ed. Everything came out as a resolution. No one can influence it for sure.

As for the Palang Pracharath Party saying that it will fully investigate both inside and outside the parliament, including the legal aspect, Mr. Sorawong said that as the Prime Minister said in an interview after the special cabinet meeting that we are people of society, when we are politicians we must be ready to be investigated anyway, and even more so when we are in the government, we cannot escape being investigated, including what he has told the media many times that he asked for time to work to prove himself through his work. As the secretary-general of the Pheu Thai Party, he is ready to fight every case, every complaint that has been filed. Today, he confirms that we cannot work together.

The reporter asked about the weaknesses of the Pheu Thai Party in terms of legal battles. Mr. Sorawong admitted that he was right. Many issues that we fought since the Thai Rak Thai Party, the People’s Power Party, and the Pheu Thai Party,
we fought with sincerity. However, various laws were distorted beyond expectations. Today, we have Mr. Chusak Sirinil, the head of the Pheu Thai Party’s legal department, coming in as a minister and as a major advisor. I am confident that everything that has been done should be quite thorough. As for whether the government will invite Mr. Wisanu Krea-ngam to be an advisor or not, that depends on the Prime Minister.

In the case of a suggestion from Ms. Pannika Wanich, a leader of the Progressive Movement, for the Prime Minister to appoint Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra as an advisor to the Prime Minister to prevent accusations of being a coward because Mr. Thaksin has knowledge and ability in economics, Mr. Sorawong expressed his gratitude, but in this matter, the law must be carefully considered in appointing or granting authority to appoint anyone. The law must be carefully considered, but he is confident that everything will be done as transparently as possible.
