Storm Trami Batters Central Vietnam, Leaving Casualties and Damaged Homes


Hanoi: Localities across central Vietnam are grappling with the aftermath of Storm Trami, which made landfall on October 27, causing widespread damage and casualties. The storm, the sixth to hit the East Sea this year, has severely impacted the region, with reports of deaths and missing persons as well as significant property damage.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported that as of 6 p.m. on October 27, the storm had resulted in the death of two people in Thua Thien-Hue province, while one person was reported missing in Quang Binh province. The storm has also damaged 210 houses in Thua Thien-Hue, 18 houses in Quang Nam province, and 62 houses in Da Nang city.
