However, on the political side, he stated that he is preparing to examine his qualifications and prepare to be a minister to receive the cabinet reshuffle.
According to Thai News Agency, there have been reports that Jatuporn Buruspat has submitted his resignation to prepare to become the leader of the New Opportunity Party and accept the position of Minister of Energy in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle. However, Jatuporn clarified in a statement to reporters that he has not resigned and is still fulfilling his responsibilities at the ministry.
Jatuporn has been serving as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment since 2019 and is expected to retire in September 2025. Despite the rumors, he continues to perform his duties, although there are speculations about his future political role. It is believed that Jatuporn is preparing to submit his resignation and undergo a qualification examination to potentially become a minister. The party he is associated with, the New Opportunity Party, is being formed in collaboration with Chatchai Promlert, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, and other former civil servants to support the next election. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy Leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party (RTSC), is expected to be a key leader in the New Opportunity Party.
