Success at the ASEAN stage: ‘Prime Minister Yingluck’ is the only female

Jirayu”, government spokesman, reveals the success of the ASEAN stage, “Prime Minister Yingluck”, the only woman.

Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced the results of the Prime Minister’s visit to Laos to attend the ASEAN Summit. He said that at the 44th-45th ASEAN Summit, the Prime Minister appeared on special television to confirm that this trip was very worthwhile because in addition to the ASEAN Summit, there was also a new member country, Timor-Leste.

We also met with leaders from various ASEAN countries, plus 1 + 2 + 3, in various bilateral meetings, discussing marine resource issues related to the Pacific region, border smog, call center gangs, which are considered major problems at the moment, and joint water management, which is a good example because Lao PDR has had many deaths and injuries from the flood situation, similar to the situation in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. This is a good sign that we have had a joint meeting.

Mr. Chirayu said that in addition,
there were meetings with leaders from outside ASEAN countries, such as South Korea and Japan. In particular, the Japanese Prime Minister talked about investment related to the automotive industry in Thailand. It was confirmed that Japanese companies will continue to invest in Thailand. In addition, there will be development of hybrid electric systems or various hybrids related to vehicles.

“For the colorfulness of this meeting, because the Prime Minister is the only woman in the meeting, when she makes a statement or presents her vision, she will be closely watched by the media around the world,” said Mr. Jirayu.
