Case of 13 villains who gang-raped a 6th grade girl, parents have brought 6 of them to surrender, one of whom is a man who is blind in both eyes, while the parents of the other 7 have contacted them to surrender.
After Mr. Kanthas Pongpaiboonwet or “Kan Jom Phalang” took a 12-year-old girl and her older sister to file a complaint at Ratthanathibet Police Station, Nonthaburi Province, in a case where the girl was lured by an acquaintance in the village who was a friend of her older brother, claiming that he would take her to eat roti, but instead took her to a resort and raped her. He then called 13 friends to join the gang rape.
The incident occurred in Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province, but the family did not dare to report the incident to the police in the area because they were afraid of the influence of the perpetrators. The latest update is that the parents brought the perpetrators to surrender to the Tak Bai Police Station, 6 people. The investigators have questioned 3 people and the other 3, who are juveniles, have been taken to inspect the surrender at the Narathiwat Juvenile and Family Court, according to legal procedures.
Police officers from Tak Bai Police Station requested permission from the Narathiwat Provincial Court for the first detention for 12 days and objected to granting bail because this case has attracted attention. Of the six perpetrators, one was a blind man who was also involved in the crime. The six are: 1. Mr. Aduanan (blind in both eyes), age 24; 2. A youth, age 16; 3. A youth, age 16; 4. Mr. Abdulleh, age 22; 5. Mr. Ilham, age 18; 6. A youth, age 16. As for the other seven people involved, their parents have contacted the investigators to turn themselves in.
Initially, from the investigation, all 3
suspects denied the charges at the investigation officer level, claiming that they did it because the victim consented, and did not rape them. However, they admitted that they had sex, and did not use force or threats. It was the child’s consent.
Yesterday, it was reported that the victim was gang-raped four times. However, further investigation by the police revealed that on the fifth occasion, on June 8, another person was sexually abused. In all five incidents, there were a total of 13 sexual abusers, some of whom were sexually abused multiple times.
However, the police have charged the perpetrator with three counts: sexually assaulting a child under 15 years old with abusing a woman, taking a child under 15 years old for indecent purposes, and taking a child under 15 years old away from their parents for indecent purposes.
The officers objected to bail at the investigation officer level because it was a case that received attention. The five individuals will then be sent to the Narathiwat Provincial Co
urt for detention. As for the juveniles, they will be sent to a juvenile detention center.
