Suspect in Ranong gold robbery invited for further interrogation


Police summon suspects who robbed 68 baht worth of gold in a famous shopping mall in Ranong for questioning. Initial investigation is underway, with a clearer picture expected soon.

Progress: The incident of 2 robbers, a man and a woman, breaking into a large retail store on Phetkasem Road, Tambon Bang Rin, Amphoe Mueang Ranong, sweeping gold necklaces from a display case, weighing approximately 68 baht, worth approximately 2.7 million baht. The robbers chose to commit the crime at the time the store opened at 9:35 a.m. and took 2 minutes to commit the crime before fleeing, parking the motorcycle used in the crime in a roadside ditch at the entrance to Phu Khao Ya, Tambon Ngao, and taking gloves, clothes, and a plastic gun to dump on the edge of the forest about 30 meters away from where the motorcycle was discarded.

The latest is that a team of investigators has been mobilized to hunt down the perpetrators, including tracking CCTV footage along the suspected escape route, including the description of the
perpetrators, and conducting in-depth investigations. The images of the perpetrators have been released on social media to encourage the public to help keep an eye out and report any information about the perpetrators to the authorities.

In addition, the officers invited the suspects and related persons for further questioning, but their statements were still confusing and unclear, so the officers were unable to request an arrest warrant from the court. However, from the in-depth investigation, the officers expected that the 2 perpetrators were still at large and hiding in Ranong Province. They are urgently searching for more evidence.
