Suwat Liptapanlop Inaugurates Hua Hin Pride Walk and Run to Boost Tourism

Hua Hin: “Suwat” opens the START OF PRIDE Hua Hin PRIDE Walk and Run, a run on Hua Hin Beach to stimulate Thai tourism 2025. On June 1, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. at Hua Hin Beach, Mr. Suwat Liptapanlop, former Deputy Prime Minister, presided over the opening ceremony of Bluport Hua Hin: Start of Pride, joining forces for physical and mental health to support safe spaces for everyone. Mr. Preeda Sukjai, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, and public and private sector partners led by Energy Absolute Public Company Limited, Saisamorn Inter Group Company Limited, and Element 72 Company Limited, as well as tourists and residents of Hua Hin, joined the event.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suwat Liptapanlop noted the cooperation between public and private sectors at the START OF PRIDE event held on June 1, a month symbolizing equality. Thailand has become one of the few countries in Asia to enact a Marriage Equality Act, reflecting international standards and respect for human rights, while promoting sexual diversity and celebrating equality.

Last year, Blueport and Prachuap Khiri Khan Province celebrated LGBTQ Equality and Diversity Day, but this year, the theme shifted to a Hua Hin PRIDE Walk and Run parade, highlighting the significance of physical and mental health. Following the beach walk and run, important health development seminars and activities were held. The event was praised for raising standards and aligning with international benchmarks for Thailand and Hua Hin, while also stimulating the economy and tourism.

Mr. Suwat emphasized that the activity not only respects gender diversity and equality but also serves to boost tourism in Hua Hin. He mentioned that many hotels in Hua Hin were nearly full due to the START OF PRIDE activity, which positively impacts the economy and enhances Hua Hin’s image as a tourist city.

He expressed gratitude to Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Blueport, and all honorable guests in Hua Hin and those who traveled from Bangkok for joining in the celebration of equality.
