Thai Airways Resumes Key Domestic Routes Amid Restructuring

Bangkok: Thai Airways International has resumed its domestic flight services across nine routes as part of its business restructuring plan, aiming to enhance connectivity within Thailand and boost tourism. The national carrier will operate these routes with Airbus A320-200 aircraft, previously managed by Thai Smile Airways, as it implements changes outlined in its business rehabilitation strategy.

According to Thai News Agency, the reinstated routes include services between Bangkok and major destinations such as Krabi, Khon Kaen, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Udon Thani, and Ubon Ratchathani. The move is designed to facilitate travel across the country, with the airline offering multiple daily flights on these routes. Specifically, Thai Airways will operate two daily round trips to Krabi and Chiang Rai, four to Khon Kaen, eight to Phuket, five to Chiang Mai, and three each to Hat Yai, Udon Thani, and Ubon Ratchathani.

The restructuring plan not only aims to streamline Thai Airways’ operations but
also to strengthen its position as a key player in promoting Thailand’s cultural and economic connections. The airline’s comprehensive domestic network is expected to attract both local and international travelers seeking to explore Thailand’s diverse attractions.
