Chengdu: Four Thai extreme athletes show excellent form, winning first place in the World Games qualifying round in China. The 12th World Games has opened in Chengdu, China, with the Extreme Sports Association sending seven athletes to compete in cable wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and roller sports.
According to Thai News Agency, Praepim Pipatsawat led the women’s cable wakeboard qualifying round, scoring 52.40 points to secure the top spot in Group 5. On the men’s side, Peeranat Fakthongyu, known as “PP,” also triumphed in Group 5 with a score of 67.40 points. Both athletes have advanced to the semi-finals, scheduled for tomorrow at 1:20 PM Thailand time.
In the Wakesurf Open Wake Skim Women’s category, Annissa Thita Flynn, nicknamed “Annie,” impressed with 55.00 points in the qualifying rounds. Her male counterpart, Songklod Chomboon, or “BM,” dominated the competition with an impressive 80.00 points, earning him a place in the semi-finals at 2:00 PM Thailand time.
The Cable Wakeboard and Wakesurfing competitions are taking place at Sancha Lake, with finals set for August 10, 2025. Meanwhile, Thai athletes Panthep Rujirek, Nichakan Jinupan, and Sasikan Kongpan are gearing up for the Roller Sports competition on August 16, 2025.
