Bangkok: More than 500 Thais gathered to sing the national anthem and raise the tricolor flag overhead at the border of Ban Nong Chan, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province, symbolically demonstrating that this land is Thai.
According to Thai News Agency, at 12:30 PM today, over 500 Thai citizens assembled at the border of Ban Nong Chan, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province. They raised the Thai national flag and sang the national anthem, their voices resonating throughout the area. This demonstration symbolized their strength and readiness to support the military in defending Thailand’s sovereignty. Residents also organized provisions, including food and water, to encourage soldiers as they carried out their duties.
Security officials are monitoring the situation closely and have requested that the public remain within designated areas to prevent any confrontations.
“Jay Ae” Nattharin Kasemsaraphiphat, a well-known creditor, expressed that the Thai people must face the Cambodians themselves due to a lack of action from those in charge.
In Ban Nong Ya Kaew, General Manat Chandi, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, and Lieutenant General Vanchana Sawasdee assessed the situation, discovering 18 Cambodian houses encroaching upon Thai territory, which is a violation of sovereignty. The military plans to address this issue at the JBC meeting, urging the Cambodian government to resolve the issue and take responsibility for its citizens. Should Cambodia fail to act, Thailand reserves the right to evict the encroachers based on legal and humanitarian principles. Later in the afternoon, the Chief of Staff visited Ban Nong Chan with the IOT team.
