Bangkok: The Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish a coordination center aimed at assisting Thai nationals following the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra expressed the Thai government’s deep concern over the worsening situation between Israel and Iran. The Prime Minister has urged all parties involved to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation. In response to the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to set up a Rapid Response Center (RRC) to aid Thai citizens in the affected region. Additionally, coordination with the Ministry of Defense has been ordered to prepare for potential evacuations if the situation deteriorates further.
The Thai government’s decision underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens abroad amid growing regional instability. The Rapid Response Centre is intended to provide immediate support and assistance, reflecting the government’s proactive stance in addressing the concerns of Thai nationals who may be impacted by the tensions.
