According to Thai News Agency, the Burapha Force, Khlong Hat Task Force, by the 13th Ranger Regiment Control Unit, Special Forces Company 1302, patrolled sensitive areas to prevent illegal border crossings by foreign workers. Initially, the Cambodian workers confessed that they traveled from Banteay Meanchey Province and would go to work in the inner areas of Thailand, paying a travel fee of 6,000 baht per person. After a preliminary investigation, military officials took all 20 people into custody and sent them to the Khlong Hat Police Station for questioning and further charges.
