Thai Women Engineers Association Celebrates International Women in Engineering Day 2025

Bangkok: The Thai Women Engineers Association (TWEA) held its 2025 Annual General Meeting to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day 2025 under the theme 'Together We Engineering' at Dusit Thani. The event aimed to honor the role of women in engineering and inspire the next generation of female engineers.

According to Thai News Agency, the Association of Thai Women Engineers stated that the event's activities included lectures from prominent female speakers. The event served as an inspirational platform for women in engineering and technology, providing real opportunities for networking among female engineers.

Ms. Lisa Ngamtrakulpanich, President of the Thai Contractors Association (TCA), spoke on the importance of collaboration and cross-disciplinary integration in the modern engineering world. She emphasized that the siloed approach of the past cannot solve today's complex problems and that specialized engineering knowledge alone may not be sufficient to meet modern challenges such as climate change and regional political issues. Collaboration from various disciplines and perspectives is required to create new innovations.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Thavida Maneewan, founder of Rai Na Robotech Co., Ltd., highlighted that agriculture and the creation of a sustainable food chain are significant issues in Thailand. Robotic technology and automation systems can aid in creating agricultural sustainability suitable for Thailand. This includes reducing labor use, developing agricultural machinery that uses clean energy, increasing work accuracy, reducing chemical use, and minimizing plastic waste. Collaboration between living things and machines is vital to achieving balance in the agricultural ecosystem.

Ms. Manasinee Nakpanan, President of the Thai Electronic Payment Service Association, discussed the commitment to promoting access to financial services for underserved groups. Innovations are being developed to improve the quality of life by understanding user contexts and pain points. The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and alternative data is used to create financial solutions that are easy to access and fair, meeting real-life needs. These solutions include payment services, loans without income documentation, small savings and investment products, Embedded Finance, and AI-based security systems to detect and prevent unusual transactions in real-time. The belief is that everyone should have equal access to suitable financial services, creating a sustainable financial ecosystem.
