Thai Women’s Volleyball Team Set for Warm-Up Match Against China Ahead of 2025 World Championship

Bangkok: The Thai women's volleyball team is gearing up for a warm-up match against the Chinese national team tomorrow before they compete in the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship. Female volleyball players from numerous countries have already started arriving in Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship will be hosted by Thailand between 22 August and 7 September across four provinces: Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phuket, and Chiang Mai. The Volleyball Association of Thailand has confirmed the readiness of all four competition venues. Teams from Slovakia, Turkey, and Mexico have already arrived, with Slovakia in Phuket, Turkey in Nakhon Ratchasima, and Mexico in Chiang Mai, where they were warmly welcomed.

The Chinese national team has landed in Bangkok and will head to Chiang Mai after a special warm-up match against the Thai national team. This match is set to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China and will take place tomorrow at 4:00 PM at the Huamark Indoor Stadium. Volleyball fans will have free admission to the event.

For the World Championship, the Thai women's team is placed in Group A alongside Egypt, Sweden, and the Netherlands. The top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16. The Thai team's first-round schedule at the Indoor Stadium, Huamark, includes matches against Egypt on Friday, August 22, at 8:30 p.m., against Sweden on Sunday, August 24, at 8:30 p.m., and against the Netherlands on Tuesday, August 26, at 8:30 p.m.
