Thailand and Cambodia Engage in Crucial Border Talks

Phnom Penh: Keep an eye on the JBC meeting between Thailand and Cambodia to resolve the hot issues on the border. The Thai side has arrived in Phnom Penh, aiming to use bilateral mechanisms to resolve conflicts, while ‘Phumtham’ hopes it will be a good start and have a conclusion that is beneficial to both parties.

According to Thai News Agency, Ambassador Prasarn Prasarnvinitchai, Chairman of the Thai-Cambodian Joint Boundary Commission, along with the Thai delegation, landed in Phnom Penh to participate in the 6th Meeting of the Thai-Cambodian Joint Boundary Commission. They were greeted at Phnom Penh International Airport by Mr. Khum Ponnaban, Director-General of the Technique of Border Affairs General Department, State Secretariat of Border Affairs.

Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, expressed on his personal Facebook page his hope that the JBC meeting would serve as a positive beginning. He anticipates a conclusion that will benefit both nations, fostering friendsh
ip and restoring common interests between Thailand and Cambodia to their usual state.
